I sold my World of Warcraft account on PlayerAuctions to this guy, the trade went smooth and was on 28th of November, he took about 6 hours on the account before he confirmed the delivery, i was a bit suspicious that he was going to wipe the account (Which he did, recently) and say that the delivery wasn’t successful . (Copy+Paste chatlog available if needed), this was prior to the sale, he had an issue regarding the secret question but he just typed it wrong (apparently) so once he was done he confirmed delivery. I requested PlayerAuctions to disburse me through Moneybookers, they confirmed it. (Email verification can be provided if needed, i have it saved). On 29th when the disbursement was supposed to happen, they sent me the money through Paypal (which at the time i wasn’t using, because i didn’t need to, since i asked for moneybookers payment). Since then i’ve tried a load of approaches, being aggressive, passive, pati ent, concerned and desperate. nothing seemed to work for PlayerAuctions.
Consumer Action Taken:
29th : I contacted PlayerAuctions support, they take at least 24hours to reply to each email. They said “Sorry, we’re escalating this to the relevant department, you should receive your disbursement soon”.
I went on customer support on the website and spoke to a representative called “Rowell”, he said that MoneyBookers had issues which is why it might take some time, so i said “Okay, just disburse me through Paypal then”, he confirmed it and said “Rest assured you will have your money within 24 hours”.
30th : I start a chat with customer support again, this time it’s MaryRose talking, she says i’ll have the disbursement within 24 hours, but around this time itself, they CANCELLED the paypal payment. (Email proof can be provided)
PlayerAuctions, LLC canceled this PayPal payment:

I asked them about it, they said it was PayPal’s fault, and that i should contact them directly. So i did, and got my response within the day (As Paypal promises), they POLITELY said to ask PlayerAuctions to provide me with the transaction ID. PlayerAuctions REFUSED to provide me with it. One of the representatives “Karen Kate” said the information is confidential, while another one just said “Oh, we don’t have access to it”.
1st December : I contacted them again. They didn’t bother helping me, just rotated around the same topic, i started to get EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED. How much is a customer supposed to take? i sold an account which has $70 worth of accounts + game time alone, not inclusive of all the money, characters and time spent on the account. Once again i received the response “Please wait for an email within 24 hours, we have escalated this to the relevant team”
2nd December : NO progress, same situation, more bullshit regarding “OH we have escalated this to the relevant team, we appreciate your patience.
3rd December : The buyer hacked my account. I can provide a link (If it’s not shown publically) to the accounts character screen where it can be seen that on 2nd or 3rd December, the character was completely stripped and has had it’s gear removed down to the point where she was semi-nude.
*Between the period of 3rd or 4th December, i contacted a PA support staff member called Karen Kate, she was extremely rude and said it was MY FAULT for the delayed payment, she said that “Oh you asked us to change it to Moneybookers, then asked to change it to Paypal again, we do not support Moneybookers”, Now, This is the SAME EMPLOYEE who responded to me on 28th of November saying “Okay, we’ve changed your disbursement method to Moneybookers”
4th December : Same response, i spoke to Rowell (a representative) and apologised on my behalf explaining the situation and how i was extremely frustrated at their lack of control in the organisation. PlayerAuctions is probably the most widely used and safest platform, they charge over 10% of the sale as commission alone, yet they have such bad customer service. He asked me to wait within 24 hours and that i’d be updated through an email.
5th December : Still no email, i’m planning to recover the account back and relist it on the website, this time for $60 and i’ll not ask them to change the disbursement method or anything, at least it would be faster than waiting until my account is completely obliterated from the system isn’t it?.
Now i don’t know what to do, Paypal said i should file a dispute, but the transaction ID isn’t available, and when i forwarded the email to PlayerAuctions, they Cancelled the payment (Probably to avoid a dispute).
I contacted the buyer, explaining the situation to him, telling him how they charged me $5 out of a $40 sale just as commission, asking him to file a dispute, claim his money back, let me get my account back and he can transfer the money to me directly. This is what he said.
“There is nothing more I can do. The money have been transfered from me to playerauctions.com, After what they have said is that they have transfered the money to you through moneybookers. There is none kind of option for me to reclaim the money…”
