Is World Law Group Legitimate? – Jeff

“Dear Steve,

I have a relative who has engaged World Law Group to help negotiate down his credit card debt I’m wondering if there is any way to know if this group is legitimate and if there is a general recommendation regarding this firm versus other firms of this type.

Dear Jeff,

Yes, make sure no debt settlement firm is charging you any fees for settling the debt before they actually get a settlement offer from the creditors and the consumer accepts it.

Of course I have to ask the obvious, what is legitimate?

You might want to follow my free guide on how to check out a company.

But additionally, is a debt settlement approach even the best approach in their situation? Let’s start with the basics.

I’d suggest you first read How to Get Out of Debt. The Honest and Unvarnished Truth and The Truth About The Success Rates, Failure Rates and Completion Rates of Credit Counseling, Debt Settlement, and Bankruptcy. They will give you a great overview of what we need to deal with to get you moving in the right direction.

Then use the free How to Get Out of Debt Calculator to review your options.

After that, come back here and comment about what seems to make the most sense and let’s discuss that.

  1. World Law Took over $6000 of our money and did nothing.  Is there anything I can do to
get my money back.  A man from Global Financial called and said he worked for them but wanted to help us that he heped consumers.  Called and talked twice and thought he was going to help.  Now he hasn’t returned our calls.  What do we do?
