It is important for you to meet who we helped today through this site. As I mention, all over the place, revenue from people clicking on ads and using the service of advertisers is used to help sponsor people in poverty through Kiva. Please visit or use the services of advertisers on the site so we can help more people.
Together with her husband, 28 year old Marilú takes care of a little restaurant located inside a market in her neighborhood in Peru. She doesn’t own the location, but it’s the best spot available for her restaurant, which recently celebrated its second year in business. Before, Marilú worked selling food out of her own house, but it was her sister who recommended the spot in the market, and Marilú agreed to go work there with her husband. Her husband takes care of the cooking and Marilú attends the customers. Besides this business, Marilú also owns a mototaxi, which she rents out. With the earnings from the restaurant and the mototaxi, she and her husband maintain the household and watch over the upbringing of their only son, who is almost two years old. In the future she would like to increase the size of her restaurant, or look for another bigger location, because the one they have now is a little small for the number of customers they serve every day.
The reason I give money to Kiva to help people all over the world in disadvantaged places is so we can give someone an opportunity to start a small business so they can care for their family and become self-sufficient.
I’d like for you to meet all the people we have helped through the GetOutOfDebt.org site. Click here.
My goal is to increase site traffic and revenue by a sufficient amount that I could sponsor one person a day. That would be awesome! If you want to work together to help achieve that goal, join my lending team and together we can make a profound difference.
