“Dear Steve,
I was contacted via email by PayPal Extras MasterCard® on 5 Nov 14 offering a $50 statement credit for a $100 purchase made by 31 Dec 14 on an approved PayPal Extras MasterCard.
I applied for the card, was approved and made the required minimum purchase on 11 Nov 14. Now, despite 3 billing cycles since the purchase, I cannot get Synchrony Bank or PayPal to honor the $50 statement credit.
Even though the email appeared to come from PayPal, PayPal maintains that it was an incentive offered by Synchrony and therefore must be applied by Synchrony to my billing statement. Synchrony keeps telling me it will be applied on the 10th of the following month but when the statement of that month processes, still not credit.
I think they believe if they make the customer wait long enough or give them enough grief about “paying up” the promised credit that the customer will finally just give up. Not this one!!< /p>
Can anything be done to force either Synchrony or PayPal to apply the promised $50 statement credit since I have the offer in writing? If so, how long can they make me wait?
Virginia”
Dear Virginia,
Thank you for letting me look into the matter.
After discussing the issue with PayPal they have confirmed you will be receiving a $50 on your next billing cycle, which is tomorrow.
I do have to give PayPal a pat on the back for helping to resolve this issue quickly.
Please post your responses and follow-up messages to me on this in the comments section below.
Hey Virginia, thanks for letting me help you get your $50 credit from PayPal.
