AFS Litigation – Consumer Complaint – June 3, 2016

Written by Consumer

Consumer Statement:

I received a call from a blocked number. I decided to answer it. The lady identified herself as a Mrs. Howz from AFS Litigation. She was calling looking for my mother. She gave me my mother’s name, address and phone number. She stated that she had been trying to get in touch with her and had tried three other people today to reach her. I asked what it was regarding and she stated that my mother had two allegations against her and she had a process server needing to serve her papers. She wouldn’t give me anymore info. She asked to have my mother call in and speak with them on the case and that she would be her case on hold until she hears from her.

Consumer Action Taken:

I told them I would have her call them back. However, after digging a little bit further (and it didn’t take me long) I realized it was a scam. My mother told me that she has been contacted multiple times by these same people. When I called back, I asked for their address. They wouldn’t provide it. She only said their corporate office was in South Carolina. When I asked for more information she became extremely rude and hung up. I tried having my husband call while I was working to get more info on the company and she called my husband “disgusting” and when he asked where they are located she said “in a town near you” and hung up on him. They are very rude, short and treated both of us like we were criminals. They are the criminals and bottom feeders. I am tired of these calls to my family. It has happened to us before, however, I have ignored it until now. BEWARE of scammers. This needs to be stopped. I am curious if anyone else has had this same experience?
