Consumer Complaint: I XXXX in a Title 1 school for a period of time in excess of 5 years. According to the XXXX Loan Forgiveness program, I was eligible to have up to {$17000.00} of my student loans forgiven due to this work experience. I was eventually ( it took a tremendous amount of time ) approved for the forgiveness, only to have my loans transferred to a new company before the forgiveness was applied. The forgiveness was never applied to my loans and the new company has refused to honor the previous approval. Also, due to my financial status I have had to keep my loans in forbearance, accruing more and more interest charges for amounts I likely will never be able to repay.
