Payday Loans

Can First Choice Advocacy Really Eliminate My Payday Loans?

Written by Steve Rhode

Question:

Dear Steve,

I currently Have two Payday Loans that I am currently making Bi-Weekly payments on. These are very high yield Interest loans as most payday loans are structured.

I end up paying a total of $700 a month to these payday loan companies via ACH withdraw from my Bank Account. These scheduled payments are set to continue for another 6 months. I know it would be best to just try to arrange to make a 1 time payoff to these loans so the high interest adds up each month. That option is not available to me right now.

I was contacted by First Choice Advocacy. A Payday Loan Consolidation Group – firstchoiceadvocacy.com > Have you heard of this First Choice Advocacy group?

They state that they could set me up with a monthly payment of $230 for a total of 5 months to cancel out these existing payday loans. They told me that they Do Not take over my current payday loan payments or pay off an amount to the payday loan companies.

Instead, they work to eliminate and dismiss the payday loan debt completely. They state they have a team of experts and network of attorneys that have experience and expertise to resolve this issue and to get these payday loans canceled.

They state that the monthly payments to them are not for payday loan debt consolidation. Instead, the way they relieve the payday loans is through their legal services.

Is this a legitimate source to get rid of current payday loans?

How do they halt these ACH auto bi-weekly bank account withdraws that I agreed to pay with the payday loan companies? Won’t the payday loan companies keep trying to pull funds from my bank account?

How to stop the onslaught of endless calls from the payday loan companies once I sign up and pay monthly fees to this First Choice Advocacy group?

Answer:

Dear Steven,

I took a look at the website you gave me. A line at the very bottom of the website caught my eye. It says, “First Choice Advocacy. All Rights Reserved. Created by Trusted Leads.”

I’m curious if this is really a lead generation website even though the site privacy terms say the company is First Choice Advocacy, LLC.

I searched the State of Nevada registered business records and there was no company returned under the name First Choice Advocacy.

The address the company gives is:

304 S. Jones Blvd
Suite 1936 Las Vegas

That appears to be a location for a virtual mail company named PhysicalAddress.com.

I think before you make any decision about if you should use this company you should do your own research. My free guides are below.

  2. 10 Must Do Steps to Find the Best Credit Counseling or Debt Settlement Company for You

I understand the claims they have made to deal with your payday loans but as far as I know at this point these are the statements made to you by probably a commissioned salesperson and they may not represent the services and disclaimers you may find by reading the fine print of the client agreement.

When it comes to getting legal help from an attorney you need to make sure the attorney they assign to your file is licensed to practice law in the state you live in. If they are not licensed in your state they can’t represent you as a lawyer.

You could also ask the company to connect you with the attorney before you sign so you can ask about actual results obtained. You also want to know what the percentage of all accounts enrolled were resolved through their program without the client being sued.

At this point, I think you’ve been told some attractive claims about what a potential lead company can do for you but there is so much more to research and verify before you can blindly leap for this or any company.
