Consumer Statement:
I received a letter from MSDS Plan Services stating that I was approved for a credit card balance settlement program with eligibility to enroll between $30,000 and $40,000 for an estimated set-aside payment of only $406.25 per month.
I was very naive and called the number provided and talked to Efrain Mercedes. I was also very naive and provided my ss# and my daughter’s seeking for a debt relief, what really made me suspicious was the fact that he asked me for my bank account information, to what I answered “I do not have any information from you yet or who you are, so I proceeded to google and search the company, which I did not find.
He said he was going to email me their web page, which he did, however when I tried searching for it, could not find it or in any debt collection sites online. Then his email address had the extension @plansvcs which I searched and found out it has been sue as a scam.
Now, I am very worried because I provided my email address, social security number and date of birth, as well as my daughter’s. I usually do not do that, but out of good faith and searching for a debt relief I did. What should I do now?
Consumer Action Taken:
I called Efrain Mercedes and told him what I found out, which he denied. I asked what he was going to do with my personal information. He said was going to be deleted. But I am still very worry about it.
