Question:
Dear Steve,
JAN. 15 2020 we went to court and I requested the court to dismiss due to improper service. The debt collector says they thought the process server “Saw” me but the judge disagreed based on the paperwork and scheduled a hearing on the matter.
After this Wyoming collector mails me a copy of a motion to dismiss without prejudice which I received today and the hearing is this coming Monday Jan. 27, 2020
Do you have any suggestions for my response to their motion to dismiss without prejudice? Do you believe I have a chance of getting this dismissed WITH prejudice so the collector cannot continue their suit?
Thank you for any advice you can give.
Jason
Answer:
Dear Jason,
Here is the best advice anyone can give you on this situation. Ready; don’t ask anyone on the internet.
The only reliable source of information on this is going to be a local attorney who is licensed to practice law in your state.
It’s a legal issue, ask an attorney. Even if you have to pay a local attorney for an appointment and still represent yourself, at least you’ll have the facts.

You are not alone. I'm here to help. There is no need to suffer in silence. We can get through this. Tomorrow can be better than today. Don't give up.
