I have four payday loans that have been sent to a collection agency they are all with the same agency I called to pay them off and the agecny refused to give me the balance owed on them so I contacted the FTC filed a complaint and also pulled my credit report as advised by the FTC that was on the 15th of Febuary on the 18th of Febuary I see that the collection agency has added like an extra 150.00 to each debt I origianlly owed. How can they do this within 2 days especially after I tried to pay them. How am I supposed to pay them if they seem as if they dont want my money and then they tact on additiona charges within 3 days

How can I get this balance back to what was orgianally owed and pay them off to be dont with these people.

Monica”

Dear Monica,

If it has been less than 30 days since the collection company contacted you, send them a written request to provide proof that this debt is actually yours and what the balance is. You would then not need to make any repayment arrangement until they can verify the debt.

If it has been more than 30 days then click here to contact a consumer attorney in your state and ask them to intervene.
