We Are Trying to Buy a House But a Judgment Appears. – Amy

Trying to buy a house but a debt shows up with title company and not on our credit report.

My husband and I am trying to buy a house we went through the pre-approval process and made and offer and it was accepted. Then we received the preliminary report from the title company and they show a judgment on my husband that does not show up on any three credit report.

If this debt doesn’t show up on any of the 3 credit reports but the title company shows it, will we not be able to buy our home?

  1. It doesn’t matter if it is on the credit report or not. What matters if it is recorded at the court house. Get the title company to tell you which county is reporting it and then call the court there and ask them to confirm it. You can also get a copy of it if it does exist.
