I’ve Been Out of College for 11 Years. How Do I Pay These Student Loans Off? – Martha

“Dear Steve,

I’ve been out of college for about 11 years now. I’ve attended 2 colleges and had to take out Student Loans from both college. My combine student loans are between $24,000-$25,000. I’m no longer working full time hours. I need someone to help me get out of the student loan debt. I will like to see them being paid off and not have to worry about them in another 20 years.

How do I get out of debt with Student Loans? What programs out there could help me pay them off?

Martha”

Dear Martha,

Post your answer in the comments below. Are these private or government backed student loans?

  1. Call your loan servicer and ask them for information on the IBR plan (Income Based Repayment Plan) to see if you are eligible for that reduced payment.
