I receive a call from a gentleman with a very strong Indian or middle Eastern accent. He starts off my asking if I am the person they are trying to contact. They state my email and last four digits of my SSN. I do not verify at this point. They state that I have a debt with a payday loan company that needs to be taken care of. They go through a list of laws that are violated if I do not take care of the debt. They also state that legal action could be taken. I then ask for the company that I am suppose to have a debt with. They tell me that they cannot give that information (red flag). I then ask to let me speak with my lenders to determine if there is a problem. They give me the number 610-200-8026 to call back. The name of the company they give is Consumer Fraud Investigation(s). I contact my lender and confirm. They inform me it is probably a scam.

I have received several phone calls from this person witht he same repeated message as above. They have also called my place of work and left messages with the office secretary stating I have a debt.

Consumer Action Taken:

I would like to have them stop calling my cell and office.
