“Dear Steve,
Ive been out of work the past 2 years and was looking for online work. One that really works! I was looking at Breakout Incomes and it didn’t sound too legitimate after reading your review. So Im here now asking you what does work? Im sick of being broke, stressed i cant make payments, depressed I cant do anything.
How can I make real money online? Helping companies posts ads? Online auctions? ANYTHING would help! Please answer me Steve!
Brandon”
Dear Brandon,
Can you make money online. It is absolutely possible to do so. But the reality is not everyone is either up for the challenge or has the necessary skills and background to be successful.
Making money online requires an entrepreneurial skill set that many just don’t have. You need to be skilled at how the online world works, technical aspects of running a website, have strong and compelling content and great relationships that you can use to generate income.
I would be that the average person that wants to make money online probably earns less than $100 a month.
Most of the make money online opportunities I’ve seen are companies selling packages to start selling online and they tell you how much money you can make. But buried in the fine print there always seems to be a disclaimer that results are not average.
It’s one thing to setup a website and put stuff up for sale but then what, you are not going to sell a thing unless you can attract people to your website. Frankly, that’s the much harder part.
There are online opportunities for you to work and make money but the key here is to work. Here is an article I posted on how to use Amazon Mechanical Turk to make money. You can also take a look at all the past making extra money articles we’ve posted.
But you also mentioned you have payments you can’t make. What kind of payments are those?
The key here is to get you into a position where we can eliminate some of your stress and depression. The depression leaves you trapped in a pit, unable to take action or follow through.
Can you tell me more about your situation in the comments below so I can help?
Please post your responses and follow-up messages to me on this in the comments section below.

You are not alone. I'm here to help. There is no need to suffer in silence. We can get through this. Tomorrow can be better than today. Don't give up.

What about online jobs that aren’t about selling anything? I’m a retired librarian living just on my Social Security – I’m afraid to use my small pension because I might need it sometime for long term care. I’d love to do some kind of online research, but not sure anyone needs what I can offer, with all the information expertise now out there. I retired 3 years ago, and figure that with the rate that technology keeps exploding, my expertise may already be out-of-date. Anything out there for someone like me?
Yea, that’s probably not going to fly. The last similar sounding job that I heard of was from the popular question site ChaCha. They pay a small bit for answering quick questions rapidly in 140 characters. See http://becomeaguide.chacha.com/
Guides can earn a set amount per task completed. Vetters earn $0.01 cents per completed task, Expeditors earn $0.02 cents per completed task, and Transcribers $0.03 per completed task. Generalists & Specialists earn between $0.10 and $0.20 per completed task, based on the Category of the question.
Shep570, you may want to look into “Foreclosure Fraud” securitizations. This is going to be “huge” in America in the coming months. Attorney’s are already looking for people that have the credentials to research through the SEC “securitization”‘s of individual mortgages. With your research background you should look into becoming certified as a Securitization Auditor. Just a thought…
Thanks, Alexiscreations – I just might!
