A new spam text message is being sent out claiming you have won a prize. The message reads:

So here is the deceptive problem. What looks like a target website, is not a target website.
dtcv.biz is a domain name registered by Ciera Afolo in Indore, India. It has nothing to do with Target. The domain name was just registered today and is already being used as spam. The server the site is on isn’t even in the United States, it’s in Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France.
When you go to the website it is designed to fake you into believe it is related to Target.
The site redirects you to target.myrewardshouse.com. This site was registered on July 14, 2012 to an anonymous party. This server is located in Kremenchung, Ukraine.
This site asks you to put in your email address.
But if we read the fine print we learn in order for you to win, you must first apply for a credit card or consumer loan.
Completion of reward offers most often requires a purchase or filing a credit application and being accepted for a financial product such as a credit card or consumer loan. – Source
In order to receive credit for participating in a financial offer you must be approved and accept the underlying credit card or loan product. For credit cards you may also be required use the card by making a purchase or balance transfer and remain a cardholder in good standing for at least ninety days. – Source
Once you put in your email address you are taken to a page that asks you for personal information. It’s obviously a fishing expedition for information that could be used to steal your identity and asks if you are diabetic or interested in going back to school.
It also appears this information is used to sign you up for a number of trial offers that “you must typically pay a fee for shipping and/or processing.”- Source
Here are the claimed prizes they say you will “win” if you are selected. If you read through the offers below you will find that you could be obligating yourself to thousands of dollars a month in recurring fees.
