I Need Help Reducing My Credit Card Debt. – Norma

“Dear Steve,

I need help reducing my debt which is in credit cards only-approximately 50,000. Some of the credit cards are in my name only, some are in my husbands name and some are in both our names.

If I look to a credit relief organization, will the consolidation and relief impact my husband’s credit rating? Thanking you in advance.

  1. Thanks so much! I’ve read the articles you’ve suggested and I still am uncertain how using a DMP organization would impact my husband’s credit rating. I dealt with a credit relief organization once before when I had to unexpectedly take a 66% decrease in my earnings and although, they were difficult to get in touch with (you were my salvation on that-you found a POC for me who was able to assist me with the actual forefront folks who were not helping me); I did complete the program and they were awesome. But from every indication I can find, it did severely impact my credit rating. I’m trying to find out if that is the norm when using a DMP. Does this offer better better background for you to assist me with my question? Thanking you in advance, Norma
