United Foreclosure Attorney Network / UFAN – Consumer Complaint – January 31, 2013

Consumer Statement:

UFAN is, was a scam! They filed for bankruptcy. Kristin Crone has moved over to Quadra | Day, LLP 9075 Foothills Blvd, Suite 5, Roseville, CA 95747.

Kristin Crone has graciously negotiated with her new employer to take over her case files for a nominal initial flat rate of $100, plus a $100 maintenance fee, plus $750 if the case goes to discovery and trial (discovery was supposed to have happened while at UFAN many months ago) plus any hard costs incurred, plus any fees involved in trying this case – trial fees, jury fees, court report fees, essentially any and all fees, plus, plus.

I believe the $750 is for the privilege to be billed further.

Oh, and the new suit is no longer a “joinder suit,” where each litigant had a separate out come. Now any “award” would have to be agreed to in mass – so basically a class action suit, where I assume the attorney’s fees will eat up just about all of any award leaving maybe a $50 dollar gift card to Home Depot for the litigants.

Consumer Action Taken:

Spoke briefly to the “new” attorney group. Indicated my frustration which simply invoked a, “Well, you don’t have to retain our services, that’s up to you.”

The question is I have $4,000 invested – how much more do I spend or do I walk away, and also walk away from the house I’m trying to retain.

Will call again 1/31 to discuss the status of the suit – and probably sign off on the new retainer.
