“Dear Steve,
About a 1 1/2 years ago I had been laid off of work and I spent much time without work and had no income coming for a good 6 months so most of my accounts went from delinquent to being discharged and I had many collection agencies calling me I started paying off accounts but it is still affecting my credit and just keeps bringing it down.
I want to get rid of all my delinquent balances on all of my delinquent and derogatory accounts. I would want to attempt to get rid of it all now at oncec but find it dificult with a really bad credit score and it is only getting worse as time progresses.
What can i do? It is about 2-4k dollars to pay off.
Ana”
Dear Ana,
There is an easy answer to this. You need to get a current copy of your consolidated credit report. Here is a link to the consolidated credit report I use myself.
The consolidated credit report will show you what all three credit bureaus are saying about you and what you will see is that no one credit bureau lists all of your accounts. That’s why you need the consolidated credit report.
Next, I would suggest that you repay your debts using the debt snowball approach. You will probably find the debt snowball approach to be more emotionally rewarding and give you greater satisfaction and motivation to keep going.
It will take a bit of time to get out of debt this way but it can be done. And once you do pay off your debts, your credit score will begin to improve. The next step will be getting new credit again to add a new, good credit history, to your old bad stuff. That will help to bring up your credit score even faster.

You are not alone. I'm here to help. There is no need to suffer in silence. We can get through this. Tomorrow can be better than today. Don't give up.
