Consumer Statement:
Three years ago I hired a debt settlement company called Westbury Duke to negotiate a settlement with my creditors. They would call to check on me regularly until a few months ago. As my three year contract came to an end I attempted to call them and they don’t answer the phone or return phone calls. Now I’ve just received a letter from them saying that they have not collected enough funds to settle the accounts, and that they will no longer be representing me. They used Global Client Solutions to deduct $348 from my checking account every month for three years, totaling approximately $13,000. There is about half of that in my account with Global Client Solutions, who will be returning that money to me next week (so they say). That leaves about $6500 given to Westbury Duke who have done nothing for me.
Consumer Action Taken:
I’ve made several threatening phone calls to Westbury Duke, and contacted Consumer protection groups and State Attorney Generals.
