A reader asked me to look at a couple of help wanted ads after my article this morning wanting to know who the American company was that was moving debt relief jobs to Panama. See this article.
The ads say an American company, Helping America Group is looking to hire people in their Panama City, Panama call center.
But here is the quirky thing, Helping America Group describes themselves in the help wanted advertisement as a “Credit Repair Call Center” but their website says they are what sounds like a debt validation company. Which is it? Apples and oranges.
On their Helping America Group website they say:
What we are:
- We are a risk management company that works with you and your debt
- We are consumer advocates, using legal methods to help and offer debt solutions.
- We help clients fight back against creditors and collectors who practice unethical and illegal acts to wrongfully collect debt.
- We use a variety of methods to challenge your debt and verify it.
Even their own ads paint a conflicting picture. But based on their own statement they are moving to Panama, it might be related to the article about Safe Harbor Financial.
The FAQ page at Helping America Group doesn’t even mention credit repair. – Source
It is a bit perplexing that Helping America Group also describes themselves as a “risk management company” just like Omni Management Partners does at the same operations address.
I beginning to think there are a a number of companies that are all operating out of the same location in Ft. Lauderdale and they have some odd interconnection. I’m sure more details will come since the tips are flying in at this point.
