Is Strategic Financial Solution Legit or a Scam? Are They Too Good to Be True?

Question:

Dear Steve,

Lots of debt almost always on time but I am getting close to not being able to keep up with them. 36K 1200.00 a month payments on credit cards

Is Strategic Financial Solutions legit or a scam company. BBB gave them an A-? They are not accredited though. I am confused, are they to go to be true??

Answer:

Dear Tanyia,

Everybody has a different definition of what a scam is. So I can’t answer that question for you.

But I can give you some specific advice on some things to check so you can make an informed choice about what you want to do.

I would recommend that anyone considering using such a company should read the following free guides.

  1. The Ultimate Consumer Guide to Checking Out a Debt Relief Company Before You Sign On the Line
  2. 10 Must Do Steps to Find the Best Credit Counseling or Debt Settlement Company for You
  3. How to Check Out a Business or Company to Avoid Getting Scammed or Ripped Off

I’ve written about Strategic Financial Solutions in the past.

Your first decision should not be whatever company to work with but what solution is right for you based on your situation. One place to look for help on this is my online Get Out of Debt Calculator.

Ideally, you should determine what solution best meets your situation and then find the best company to help you with that path. For example, you would not work with a settlement company if bankruptcy is your best option.

The BBB does currently have a Strategic Financial Solutions an A- rating. They also say Ryan Sasson is the CEO and Daniel Blumkin is the president. – Source

Sasson and Blumkin have appeared on this site before and were associated with different companies.

It looks like the federal court system has mostly employment and labor cases on file involving them. Here is one of them.

I’m not quite sure what to believe about the company. The first pages on Google seem to be filled with how awesome a place it is to work and even their website starts with that point of view as well. – Source

But the site seems really short on what they can actually do for you. What they do say is “Strategic Financial Solutions is an award-winning financial services firm that is dedicated to helping people burdened with debt. We leverage a highly consultative approach to deeply understand the needs of our clients and use this information to create a personalized debt relief program that includes debt consolidation loans and debt resolution programs. Since Strategic was founded over ten years ago, we have used this unique approach to successfully resolve more than $1 billion in debt and fund loans for over 100,000 clients across the United States.” But that really doesn’t say what they do.

Another area I look at is to see what employees have to say. Here are some places to look: here and here.

Now, this is just my personal opinion after looking up information on the company but the search engine results look like they’ve used an SEO consultant to manipulate them. Again, just a feeling.

So much stuff online about working there but little on what they actually do.

I’d be very interested in learning more about what debt relief option they are trying to sell you. Send in your tips here or comment below if you’ve contacted them before or been a client.

Sincerely,

You are not alone. I'm here to help. There is no need to suffer in silence. We can get through this. Tomorrow can be better than today. Don't give up.

  1. Thanks so much for this and the other articles. Do you have the link for the lawsuit though? I could not find it at the end of the article
