currently unemployed, spouse self employed but not consistant (construction) unsecured debt – approx. $11,500
what is the best way to relieve this debt? cannot afford payments from credit counseling (was previously in program) and just severed ties with debt settlement company- Lloyd, Ward & Assoc. who are nothing short of scam artists!!! Is there a reputable debt settlement/negotiation company out there?? please advise – thank you

If you are living on inconsistent income and can’t afford to repay your debt then the first solution to consider would be bankruptcy.

So I would suggest two courses of action.
