“Dear Steve,
I am 30 years old and make $45K and have racked up a lot in medical bills that was taken to collection.
I am currently paying that debt off but my credit cards are falling behind. I currently have $12,000 to $15,000 in credit card debt and want to lower my interest rates and the amount owed to those credit card companies.
I prefer using a debt relief company that does not charge any fees (if possbile) but I just want to find some help in lowering my debt all together. I would prefer to have everything lowered and be able to pay off the credit card debt within 12-24 months.
Who would you recommend that I call and use to help me with my situation? Thank you for your time.
Danielle”

Dear Danielle,
Every debt intervention solution will have some fee associated with it. It might be a penalty charge from a creditor, or a charge from an outside party assisting you.
To review all of your option why don’t you use the free How to Get Out of Debt Calculator to review your options.
You are going to have to look at solutions that will lower your monthly payment and those will include a debt consolidation loan, bankruptcy, and debt settlement.
After you look at your options, post a comment below and let’s talk about what looks reasonable to you.
