Is Fast Track Debt Relief a Company That Will Help or Are They a Scam? – Alan

“Dear Steve,

Girlfriend walked out a year ago. I’m using the payments from 5 credit cards to make the house payments (she used to pay half the household costs). Looked at BK but 13 appears to be the only relief and I feel if I am going to make a payment, maybe a debt relief agreement may be better. Can’t refi fico <500 market value of home = w/mortgage amount (not behind in house payments). Is Fast Track Debt Relief a company that will help, or are they a scam? Alan"

Dear Alan,

If you are taking cash advances or using the credit cards to make ends meet the bigger issue is if you can afford the house at all.

Why is Chapter 13 the only relief? Did you actually meet with a local bankruptcy attorney?

Please tell me more about your situation so I can get you headed in the right direction.

  1. Wish I came across your site last year, have unsecured debt that is now in the legal courts.
Signed up with FASTTRACK and believe them to be pure scam artists. I need to get out of the program, they really don’t deliver what they verbalize.  I feel like a total idiot for falling for their scam, there really ought to be laws of consumer protection for people such as myself that found themselves in a credit/debt nightmare that is being made even worse by falling for scammers such as FASTTRACK.  I never had trouble with the law, been an abiding citizen and gladly paid my debt, however, unforeseen events took place and found it extremely difficult to survive in this fragile economy.  How can scam artist be allowed to conduct business and make money off people that are struggling already and want to pay their debt.  This company and ones like this should really be ILLEGAL!!! I will inform my congress representative and ask what can be done so that people do not fall victim and their circumstance made even worse.

      • Hello Eaborowiak, Please give us some further information about your financial situation and perhaps we can offer more specific help. I don’t think it is as black and white as to whether Fast Track is a “scam”. It is really more about whether or not they are offering you a good solution. Typically programs like fast track are more interested in selling you their program than they are in actually helping you solve the problem. They don’t get paid to help you figure out the best way to solve your problem. They get paid to sign you up and try and settle your debt.
Please give me some further details and also please let me know what Fast Track is proposing as the solution.

        Thanks.
