I read one of your blogs in January concerning Obama’s social work loan forgiveness plan.
I am curious to know if any movement has been made on this. I am a social work working in a
public servcie-non profit agency and wonder if I qualify?

Dear Patricia,
I have not heard anything more about forgiving student loans specifically for social workers but you might want to investigate the National Health Service Corp that can forgive up to $50,000 in loans for a two year service commitment or maybe the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program from the Federal Student Aid Information Center. You can always give them a call at 800-433-3243 and see what new programs may now be in force.
